Madnews Here,
Now I'm going to be talking about the fate franchise in general simply because they have a boat load of projects coming up for this series, ranging from studios such as Shaft, Silver link, Ufotable, A 1 pictures and even some upcoming studio called lay-duce whom I've never heard of before. in other words a F!@#&* boatload of instalments are coming to flesh out this franchises lore... ok where to begin..
Fate/Extra Last Encore

Well Starting with shaft, there adapting Fate/Extra in to Fate/Extra Encore, and adaptation based upon a video game. have no idea what it's about, other than the fact that once again we have a protagonist (Haruko) in search for the holy grail and much blood, gore and violence will ensue...

Also I have no idea how Shaft Is going to go about animating this, seeing what they are capable of in the digital medium, I can definitely vouch for them that they are capable of making visually spectacular productions with few or no rivals. Though in terms of narrative and plot, there usually hit and miss, and tend to have a knack for adapting strange source material. I don't know how it's going to play out. For example, recently around November, I decided to watch Madoka Magica and all of it's related works... While visually amazed with it's production, it was headache inducing and it's plot was incredibly confusing, to be brutally honest I was indeed somewhat disappointed, since I knew this series has a really large fan base and is rated really high, being a fan of Shaft works such as the Monogatari series and it's plethora of content and Sayonara Zetsubou sensei, I was very interested to see what it was all about.. Words like "masterpiece" are thrown around this series, but boy was I surprised after watching this series how it actually got these kind of ratings for what it was, I don't know, maybe I was not in the right place to be watching this series, or it was a bad time in my life, I have no clue.. though one thing I do know is that shaft all to often prioritizes production quality over narrative quality to major extremes. Throughout the whole series, watching Fate kalied liner before hand (Another magical girl series) my experience was over shadowed by that all of the time, simply because I thought it to be better, though surprisingly enough many people disagree with as Fate kalied liner was actually rated worse than Madoka Magica, and I have little clue as to why. & that's the reason why I picked up Madocka Magica, it was because of Fate Kalied liner and how Silver link was a relatively similar studio to Shaft, especially because silver link comprised of Ex shaft employees.
The reason why the monogatari series was so successful is because the author of the original light novels is in my opinion great at pacing his story and takes it somewhat slowly, whilst being intellectual and experimental about it, so when the monogatri series came about, it was the perfect blend of Shaft's interest and tendencies to to creat visually compelling and intellectual works whilst, the person responsible for the story nisio isin was effectively able to slow it down some so we the audience could actual make sense of it all... well most of us..You see even with incredibly talented directors such as Oishi and Itamura behind the scenes to create visually marvellous and compelling scenes with clever use oaf film grammar, they still have tendencies to have very fast paced dialogue, quirkily off topic conversations, and a vast amount of signs to fast to actually read without pausing like a maniac. Truth is, as talented as team Shinbo and staff at Shaft are, a lot of times the stars just don't align for them, though thankfully they had long running productions such as the Monogatari series and Sayonara zetsubou sensei to play around with. With those two series, The stars did align and they were able to create a singularly paramount production for themselves at shaft, especially with the monogatri series. To date, the monogatari series and it's film trilogy remains the best production quality I've seen for an anime, while also providing and singularly unique and standalone original story, narrative and characters.
Yes I have confidence in their animation and directing chops, but the question is, as of now, are the stars going to align with shaft and the fate series? are they stable? I really don't know, after all shaft to me, is probably the most unpredictable production studio out there, they always amaze, one way, or another.

Fate (Ufotable)

Probably one of the best studios to pick up this franchise as of yet, Ufotable's previous productions such as Fate/zero (A prequel to Fate/Stay Night) was absolutely great, with high octane action scenes, dark plot twists, blood and gore, it showed to be something either rivalling or besting Attack on Titan's brutal tendencies, even more so with Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works, a revamped version of Fate/Stay Night by studio Deen, just a thousand times better. Along with paramount productions such as Kara no Kyoukai, Ufotable made a name for themselves animating these two series, and now are regarded as one of the most avant garde studios out there to push the limits, along with shaft of course. This series of fate adaptations from Uftoable offers a more serious tone for the Fate series, dealing with psychological and idiosyncratic themes dealing with the cruelty of humanity and Kiritsugu's destructive hero complex. It follows protagonists such as Kiritsugu and Shiro wanting to save the world, but them realizing how cruel the actual means to do so can be, and whether or not it's worth it and if they can maintain their humanity doing so. It's a encompassing series about human morality and ideals, and these series are something everyone should watch. Fate stay night in particular was extremely well animated, the production was absolutely gorgeous and they most certainly executed the story very well.

I was sad when it all came to an end, but thankfully the next instalment is coming this year, in the form of a film trilogy. Now when I saw the PV video, I shit my pants. The animation, particularly the backgrounds were drop dead gorgeous, i have no doubt it will be up to par with the Kara no Kyoukai film series, intact I anticipate it will be even better, since Kara no Kyoukai was animated quite a ways back.

Fate/Apocrypha

Yet another adaptation from the fate universe comes A -1 pictures take on the fate universe with Fate/Apocrypha. Now before we go on.. Like holy F!^!ing shit, how many fate adaptations are we going to see in 2017 like holy F^*!ing moly!! this is probably THE largest franchise movement since Starwars, I can't think of another universe that has spread across this many mediums since stars wars, there are video games, soundtracks, multiple animations, novels like holy cow!!
Any way I'm happy, this movement of fate related adaptations will surely serve the anime community/industry eel, I haven't seen anything like it at all in anime history.. Anyways Fate Apocrypha focuses on yet another alternative universe to Fate/Stay night where the Holy grail disappears and later on a clan of mages claims to be the ones who have stolen it five years ago from the holy grail war back in 2004. Now to get it back, the mages association sends an army of mages to get it back and all but one are slaughtered by a mysterious servant. The one remaining is able to activate the greater grail and summons 14 servants, marking the next Holy Grail war.
Don't know entirely how it's going to play out, though I do like A-1 pictures production so hey why not? The PV looked great and it seems there is quite a bit of action that'll ensue. I've watched Quite a few productions from A-1 pictures, dramas such as Your lie in april, Sora no woto and Erased and I've heard of series such as working, fairytale and Uchuu Kyoudai being great. I'm really quite posed into further looking into A-1 pictures productions as they have quite a history and many productions with good lengths.

Fate/Grand Order : First Order (Sigh)

Yet ANOTHER Adaptation of The fate franchise set in Yet ANOTHER alternate universe
(I think I'm going to have a nose bleed) in a super technological future (or Present?) that has our protagonists go back in time to investigate the holy grail war in 2004 and learn about what's currently destroying the world and to save the future...

Now, a two weeks ago I watched this and, I was excited, though I kind of left unsure of what's to come or what to expect of the next Grand Order special that we got.. Nothing too interesting about the premise, though i can say that I'm still intrigued and will be following up with it the next time around Grand order gets another adaptation.

The interesting thing about this is that a studio called Lay-Duce is animating it...now I have very little idea of what they're capable, as I've never actually heard of them since they're only a small up and coming studio. They're production quality as of yet, from what I've seen in grand order was pretty good, so they're not bad for a studio that seems relatively green
I've Never Seen A franchise move en masse with so many projects, so hopefully like myself and others you'll join me in following it to the end.
